Not all flat packs are equal

Built like a container, not a shed

The cheapest flat packs are 0.6mm steel on an 18mm board floor. Ours are built a good deal heavier, which is why they last outdoors, take a loaded pallet, and can be craned to a new spot with the kit still inside.

Thicker galvanised steel

Panels are pressed from 0.75mm hot-dip galvanised steel, around a quarter thicker than the 0.6mm most budget flat packs use. Galvanised through and through, so it stands up to weather and knocks rather than rusting at the first scratch.

A floor that takes a beating

A 35mm solid plank or 25mm OSB floor over a galvanised steel frame, rated to 500kg per square metre. That is nearly double the 18mm board on a typical flat pack, and enough for loaded pallets and wheeled kit without flexing.

Move it loaded

Once it is built you do not have to empty it to move it. It lifts by crane up to 1,500kg or forklift up to 3,000kg with the contents inside, so a full store can follow the job instead of being unpacked and rebuilt each time.

Up in under an hour

It ships flat and two people put it together by hand with a socket set. No crane, no forklift and no groundworks to install it. It goes almost anywhere a full container cannot, through a side gate or into a tight yard corner.

Ventilated against damp

The roof is built with airflow channels that let the store breathe, which keeps down the condensation that plagues sealed metal boxes. Your tools and stock stay dry through the seasons.

European-made steel

Manufactured in Europe by a specialist that has been building these containers for decades, with a double-locking door as standard. Demountable too, so it comes apart and relocates when you move on.

Why it is worth a little more. A flat pack is only cheap once. Thin steel and a soft floor rust, sag and get replaced. Heavier steel and a proper floor is the one you buy today and still use in ten years.

Common questions

Flat pack containers, answered

Are flat pack containers any good?

A well-made one is. Ours are pressed from 0.75mm hot-dip galvanised steel, roughly a quarter thicker than the 0.6mm used by most budget flat packs, on a 35mm plank or 25mm OSB floor rated to 500kg per square metre. That is a genuine steel store, not a tin shed with a container name.

Do you need a crane to install a flat pack container?

No. It arrives flat and two people build it by hand in under an hour with a socket set. It sits on any firm, level ground with no foundations or concrete base needed. Once built it can still be lifted to a new position by crane up to 1,500kg or forklift up to 3,000kg with the contents inside.

How does it compare to a shipping container?

A 3m gives comparable space to a 10ft shipping container and a 6m to a 20ft, but with flat-pack delivery that needs no crane, roof ventilation that prevents condensation, and full demountability so you can relocate it later.

Will it get condensation like a sealed shipping container?

The roof is built with airflow channels that let the unit breathe, which keeps down the condensation that damages goods in sealed steel containers. An anti-condensation ceiling lining is available as an option.

What floor and door options are available?

A choice of 25mm OSB or a 35mm solid tongue-and-groove plank floor, both rated to 500kg per square metre, with end or side double doors on the 3m and larger sizes.

How secure is it?

It comes with a double-locking door as standard, on galvanised steel construction. Vandal bars, a heavy-duty safety latch and anti-theft fixings are available as options.

Can it be moved once it is built?

Yes. It is fully demountable, and once assembled it can be lifted to a new position by crane up to 1,500kg or forklift up to 3,000kg with the contents still inside.

How much is a flat pack container?

Our flat pack storage containers start at £1,350 ex-VAT for the compact unit and run to around £2,500 ex-VAT for the 6m. Delivery is quoted separately by postcode.
