Everything you need to know about buying a Cabinworx cabin or container, from delivery and connection to lead times, finishes and payment. Can't see your question? .
Do you sell cabins outright, or only hire?
We sell brand new cabins and containers outright, so they're yours to keep, relocate or resell. Buying outright is usually far better value than long term hire, and you own the asset from day one.
What's the difference between "In Stock" and "Bespoke Cabins"?
In Stock units are already built and standing in a yard, not a catalogue entry waiting on a production slot, so most are on site within days rather than the weeks a made-to-order build takes. Stock covers single WC and shower cabins, larger toilet blocks, accessible units, 10ft and 20ft site offices, gatehouses and security kiosks, steel storage containers from 6ft to 20ft, and new one-trip shipping containers up to 40ft high cube, each with a live price shown. Bespoke Cabins is our full made to order range: any size or layout, built to your spec. Every layout shows an indicative price so you can plan your budget.
How much does delivery cost, and what does the price include?
In-stock prices are ex-works. Delivery is quoted by postcode and your offload requirements: standard flatbed, where you offload with your own forklift or telehandler, or HIAB crane offload if you have no kit on site. Made-to-order units are delivered and sited by us, with delivery and installation in the indicative price. We hold stock at depots across the UK, so your unit ships from the nearest one, and once we have your site postcode we confirm the exact delivered cost before you order. Assembly for flat pack units is quoted separately, and prices change constantly so please confirm before ordering.
Do you deliver across the whole UK?
Yes. We hold stock at depots across the UK, including Bathgate, Toome, Leeds, Widnes, Crewe, New Chapel, Derby, Burton upon Trent, King's Lynn, Newport, Berkshire and Chichester, and deliver nationwide. Your unit ships from the depot nearest your site, which keeps delivery quick and the cost down. Tell us your postcode and we will confirm the delivered price from your closest available stock, often for less than the guide shown online.
How quickly can I get a unit?
In stock units can usually be delivered within days, subject to depot location and haulage. Made to order layouts are typically a few weeks depending on the build and time of year, and we confirm a firm lead time with your quote.
How are the cabins delivered and offloaded?
Most units go on a standard flatbed lorry, which you offload with your own forklift or telehandler. No kit on site? A HIAB crane lorry offloads and positions the unit in one visit instead, you just need clear access for the vehicle and crane. Larger or combined buildings are delivered in sections and craned into place, then joined and finished on site. Tell us about your access and we'll plan the right method.
Do I need to prepare the ground first?
The unit needs a firm, level base: compacted hardcore, concrete, or level ground will do for most single cabins. Larger modular buildings may need a prepared foundation, and we'll advise what's required for your unit and site.
Who connects the water, drainage and electrics?
Cabins arrive fully fitted out, with all internal pipework, fittings and wiring already in place. Final connection to your site's mains water, waste and power is done by your own plumber or electrician, as those points are specific to your site. Sanitary units need a single phase 32A supply plus mains water and drainage.
Are the cabins insulated and heated?
Yes. Our welfare, office and sanitary cabins are fully insulated (walls, floor and roof) and fitted with heating, so they're comfortable year round. Storage containers are uninsulated as standard, with insulation and electrics available on request. Units can also be customised to meet a specific thermal performance you require, though that would normally fall under a bespoke order.
What colours and finishes are available?
In stock cabins come in a choice of standard RAL colours shown on each product (typically Light Grey, Gentian Blue and Moss Green). Made to order units can be finished in other RAL colours on request. Interiors are lined in wipe clean white panel with slip resistant flooring.
Do you offer accessible (DDA) toilets?
Yes. We stock accessible (DDA compliant) WC cabins with a wide door, grab rails, an emergency pull alarm and an engaged or vacant indicator, and we can build accessible compartments into larger blocks. Filter the in stock range by "Accessible" to see what's ready now.
Can I get a bespoke size or layout?
Absolutely, that's most of what we do. From single offices to multi bay welfare, changing rooms, classrooms and accommodation, we build to your size, layout and fit out. Browse the bespoke range by category, or send us a brief and we'll spec it with you.
How do I pay, and is a deposit required?
We confirm payment terms with your order. Payment is by BACS, or by payment link (which is subject to an additional transaction fee). For smaller units and in stock items, full payment is normally required in advance. For larger or bespoke orders we take a deposit to confirm the build, with the remaining balance due before delivery. We'll set everything out clearly in your quote, so just ask if you have specific requirements.
Do I need planning permission?
Portable cabins are usually treated as temporary structures, but rules vary by location and use, especially for permanent siting or sensitive areas. We'd always recommend checking with your local authority, and we're happy to provide unit dimensions and details to support an application. For the full picture, read our planning permission guide.
Is there a warranty and aftercare?
Every unit is brand new and comes with a manufacturer warranty, with the exact terms set out on your quote. We also stay with you after handover: spare parts, advice and support are only a phone call away.
